Cobbleacre is a four lake complex situated just north of Norwich, in
the village of Heavingham. The main specimen lake is called
Mario's and is around the three and a half acre mark (guestimate).
The lake contains a good head of Mirror's (to over 30lb, including
the lake record "Pistol" around 33lb mark), Commons (a fair few of
these are in the mid twenty bracket) and also some hard fighting Ghosties (up to 30.09). There are also catfish up to 30lb's in
Mario's.
I fished the lake the day after Boxing Day, Christmas 2004. I
will be adding the story of this visit to the
In Session section hopefully
next week.
The facilities at Cobbleacre are first class. With a shake up in
staff recently, the new Bailiff Jason is hard working (especially
when it comes to tea drinking) and made us feel very much at home,
whilst also offering an insight into the fishing past and present.
Being a day ticket water there is always the chance of sharing
the lake with a few people, but most of the people walking around
were friendly.
